Default When doing a leakdown test...?

Does the engine have to be on TDC of the stroke?
If the rockers are pulled, can you do it without, and just give the cylinder more time to fill?

I belive it should still be TDC, even if the rockers are off. I guess you could do the leakdown test with the piston not at TDC, but it would be a good idea to do it at TDC on all cylinder becuase there can possibly be more or less leakdown at the top and bottom of the cylinder.
