I personally think that the stock SS/WS6 exhaust sounds great...Its fairly loud and pretty throaty. Yes, this is the exhaust I have, but it was given to me brand new. If I were going to buy one, I'd probably go GMMG. Sounds awesome. As for my least favorite, Borla and Loudmouth. Too raspy and crackly.

Ok, here's my question. I currently have the stock manifolds/ypipe/cats with a borla wideopen plate(I like it but it came free with the car). What cat back would have the same volume level as what I have now, but with an offroad longtube/ypipe setup? And I'd like for it to be deeper too if possible, but I knoe that's hard to do without cats.

Here's my take on aftermarket exhausts. Many people will tell you exaust A is the best while others say product B is the best. Exhaust tone is all about personal preference. While I may love the way the Borla sounds, Joe Smoe might think it sounds like crap. Thats why I tell all the newbies to find people with different setups in their area and hear them for themselves in person. Otherwise you're going by 1 mans opinion. I've heard many people say that the Borla sounds bad from the outside of the car while at WOT. But as I see it, I purchased the Borla for my benefit and not the others on the road. Just my .02

I think that's it exactly. I heard (in person) a Corsa, cut-out, Flowmaster, and Borla before going with the GMMG. I had only heard it from some sound clips, but I loved the sound of it. I wanted my car to sound like the 60's muscle car I would have bought had I been alive back then. The sound is incredible, I wouldn't trade it for any other catback out there. And if anyone's interested, there is a video of my Formula with the GMMG on my homepage. Link is in my sig...

I've got the B&B triflow. While a lot of people seem to like the tips, I'm not crazy about them. It is a good-sounding exhaust, though. My question is this: do you really gain anything by going from a 3-inch catback like the B&B to a 3.5 or 4-inch exhaust like the Mufflex? Onfire (Tom Deskins) says no, but I am still intrigued by the Mufflex- quite a few people have them. I only have bolt-ons now, but may do heads and cam down the road. BTW, special thanks to Tom for helping me with my car the past couple of weeks! Tom is a great guy!

how does a stock ws6/SS catback compare to a stock TA catback?
i got FLPs-usually i run around with the cats in and cutout open-sounds SWEEET. however, with the stall i think that setup would just be too loud (in the burbs). I know a guy whos selling their stock SS and im thinking it might be nice to have a little upgrade
i like the stock look/sound-it confuses people.

i like my borla however i have FLP's with offroad pipes and i have it wide open and i love it loud it just doesnt sound very toned....is there and exhaust that sounds somewhat toned but still loud with flp's/offroads??? also is a wide open borla pretty much like having a cutout?? i may just keep the borla but im throwing around my options
