Question AFR's or PRC's???

what heads?

PRC 200 cc Terminators milled to 59cc- 1800 and change
PRC 2.5 5.3L 220 cc milled to 59cc- 1200 and change
AFR 205's milled to 59cc - 2000 and change

which one would you guys choose

I am using an MS3 cam and a 90 90

:EDIT: I also want to know if a head with a 220 runner will REALLY hurt any power down low...like I said, the MS3 will bump the power band up...but i was thinking something like a 200 or 205 runner would bring it back down just a tad for more mid range...
is this true, or no...

THANKS

I'd think about a set of TFS heads in that mix also. That's what I've done.

I will say this, for the price it will be very hard to beat the PRC 5.3L head. It has the small 63cc CNC chamber that will give you 10.75:1 compression out of the box, they can also be milled for more as well. It has a 220cc runner that flows 313cfm @ .600, also has excellent midrange lift flow numbers and don't back up until past .650". Along with the CNC Porting, the CNC valve job ensures that everything is the same and there is no variation from valve to valve.

The Terminator head has the small 200cc runner and great flow numbers and is a very strong contender in the field of aftermarket castings. At 1899 assembled with the good double spring and titanium retainers they are an excellent head at an excellent price.

From the 62hp gain that we saw from the PRC 5.3's I would not hesitate to go with them. Give yourself the benefit of not only putting down more power with the stage 2.5 but save the 900 dollars and spend it on something that will take you even further ahead in gains!

Let me know if you need anything else Erik!

Better get the ETP 215 heads into the mix.

The best designed direct bolt on head out there.

Interesting info..those heads are really starting to sound like the best ones for my setup, inexpensive but they still make great power

Just figure out how bad you have the modding bug. Heads are expensive and if you're the type to keep upgrading or constantly go faster, swapping heads gets to be very expensive between resale value loss and consumables used in the swap. If you have to pay for labor, it really adds up.

If you have a certain goal and will easily make it with budget heads, then buy them. A good budget heads and cam will add significant power that you'll feel every time you mash the gas. However, if your goal is to be amoung the very fastest or acheive a hard to reach horsepower level, buy the best heads you can get.

With regard to your question, a 200 cc runner isn't going to overcome the loss of low end grunt caused by the MS3 & 90/90 combo. Put some 4.10s (or even 3.73s) to help deal with your lack of torque.
