Default Re: 98 MAC Headers for a 2000 Car

I had MACs for a couple months before deciding I didn't like them, but the guy I sold them to loved them, so go figure...

Either way.. here's what you'll need.

12556643 - EGR Pipe

This is the pipe that runs into the top of your intake manifold just behind your throttle body. It's a large piece as it connects all the way own to the manifold all one piece.

12559188 & 12559189 - AIR Pipes

These come off your manifolds as is on either side... the 98/99 ones are different dimensions... THANKS GM for changing such stupid little things.

12553047 - EGR Gasket
12553617 - Gaskets for AIR Pipes

You'll also wnat to order some nice header gaskets and I'd strongly recommend Stage 8 locking bolts.

I didn't install the headers myself (though I wish I had now after realizing that it's really not THAT hard) either way.. the exhaust shop didn't install the EGR or AIR Pump gaskets... so if you have your headers put in professionally... I'd recommend you hang onto those gaskets and put them in yourself... chances are your shop will just assume you'll never notice if they don't install them.

By the way... the numbers above are all GM part numbers... I recommend you buy the stuff from www.gmpartsdirect.com it's cheapest that way. You'll save a LOT over dealership prices - often times the dealerships don't even stock those gaskets so you might as well order it all from GM Parts Direct.

Default 98 MAC Headers for a 2000 Car

I'm considering buying some used ones that I have found. Can anyone give me a list of everything I will need to make these work on my car, and an estimated price if possible?

Thanks for the help!
Jeff
