Why would you? You've still got a lot of playing room left with .600/.605. Id stay with the golds..

If you use more valve spring than you need it can rob power from you. You are in great shape with the Patriot Golds.

Its stronger but with this being said its stiffer to. Putting a valve spring to stiff for your aplication is going to cause problems with the valves openig and closing like they should.

Huh? Again, where is this misinformation coming from? Putting too weak of a spring will present the problems you're talking about (valve float, valves bouncing on the seat). The slight increase in mass from these springs would not be near enough to outway the advantages of more pressure on the seat.

If the rest of your valve train can support the increased pressure, stronger valve springs will not affect valve control in a negative way. Valve control will only be increased.

Whenever your lobe pushes the follower up that compresses the spring, it will require more force (force (over a distance) over time which equals "power"); however, immediately after the springs will be pushing on the lifters which will act on the back side of the lobe to assist in turning the camshaft (less force is required, you can back out less power). The differences will be neglidible for a street motor in terms of net power production.

With this being said, more valvespring is not a bad idea.

I agree. Short of collapsing a lifter, i dont think there are any real dangers to over springing an application.

The key is that your valvetrain can support the greater pressure. If your valvetrain will not, components will not work efficiently and can result in a loss of power.

Do these valve springs clear stock rocker arms ? As in retainer to rocker clearance ?
