Default Comp 918 Springs??

What are ya'lls opinions on these springs?? I see MTI and Thunderracing are offering these springs with their latest cam purchases...how will these things hold up to the Thunder 224 cam or the T1/B1/Hammer???
Thanks
Jay

From what I've been hearing, these springs work very well due to thier ovate wire design and stock-style beehive shape. The shape/characteristics of the ovate wire design allow the springs to wrok well with bigger cams, while not requiring outrageous spring pressure due to the lightweight design of the spring itself (especially when used with a Ti retainer, not the stock ones).

I should have a set going on my car soon, along with a slightly more aggressive cam (with a decent bit of lift). I've been assured by a reliable source (whom I will not reveal at this time) that these springs should work in my combo (>.580 lift, 6900rpm) with no problem.

They are very nice springs! We have had very good luck with them. On agressive cams that were breaking other springs, these are working well. <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0">
The Ti retainers are a great idea also!
Good Luck,

StreetStalkerZ: The 918's use a stock size retainer, so I don't think your current ones would work. You'd either have to switch back to stock retainers, or use Comp Ti retainers for that spring (which I'm told weigh 1/2 that of stock).

George, will my titanium retainers from my K motion springs work with the 918s? I broke a K motion and im going to probably order a set of 918s tomorrow but i can't afford to buy retainer also. I hear that the stock retainer work with the 918s?
