You DO NOT need to flycut with the MS4 and the PRC Stage 1 LS6 heads. Although if you do end up flycutting we could set you up with a stage 2.5 cylinder head that will perform just a little better with the bigger valves.

Again, the MS4 and PRC stage 1 heads bolt on with no modification to the pistons for clearance. It is a direct bolt on.

The PRC stage 1 heads are THE best budget head on the market, this heads and cam combo is a proven setup that is garunteed to give you the ground pounding power everyone is looking for. If you need any information or have any questions feel free to post up or pm!!

Texas Speed, with the new ms4 how harsh is the cam on the rest of the valve train. How often would someone need to change dual springs if ever? What rpm to they make power up to? What lsa would you recomend for a 4000 stall auto with 373s? Thanks.

No no no... You fly cut pistons while they are still installed in the block. Also it can be done when it is in the car if the engine is not on a stand already. Hardest part is probably pulling the heads off.

i would like to know how this head/cam combo would stack up against the same head with a T-rex cam????? this is the way i'm leaning towards when the time comes.

also, how much harder or easier would this cam be on the valvetrain vs the T-rex cam?

thanks,
Dave

the Magic Stick 4 specs are: 239/242, .649"/.609" 111 lsa 2300-6800 RPM Power Band

the T-rex specs are 242/248 - .608/.612 - 110 lsa 3500-6700 RPM Power Band

i think the the t-rex is a big cube motor stick and way to much for a stock head ls1. plus it's not very streetable and the power band is not that impressive.

conneticut, thanks for the pic! how'd the istall go? any tips you want to share?

dont think jerry you might hurt yourself, lol, the TREX is designed to work with stock heads, thats why the fastest cam only car is a TREX and stock heads, and shortblock, of course he is proshifted

You can give us a call if you are having troubles with the website. It's quite a bit of labor to flycut but it is not needed with this setup.

Texas Speed, So do you think the 5.3L stage 2.5 CNC ported cylinder heads will work with the MS4? or will that require flycuting?

Read the same article the other night, very good looking setup, especially since you do NOT have to flycut the pistons! Just curious, you guys over at TSP have any actual RWP gains on that setup? I figure you can knock off 15% +/- from the crank numbers published in GMHTP, but I'd like some real numbers if you had any

The reason for doing engine dyno testing was so we didnt have to mess with drivetrain loss and all the speculation that goes on with RWHP numbers. To see the actual gains at the flywheel minimizes alot of variables so you get raw results.
