The numbers are on an engine dyno, not a chassis dyno. States right in the article that it's one of the biggest cams you can run with stock pistons.

They are flywheel #'s. I would check into a set of ET Performance heads or RHS(Racing Head Services). On my cousin's vette we put a set of modified RHS 225cc heads with a cam that is pretty big for a stock bottom end. The cam number's are
advertised duration 302 int/exh
.050" 234 int/exh
112* LSA
108* int centerline
.578" lift int/exh

We did not have to fly cut anything on the piston's. So far it has made 444.97 rwhp and 405.74 rwtq SAE corrected on a Dynojet 248 @6,400 rpm. The dyno broke on us and are waiting for it to be fixed to finish.

i think the the t-rex is a big cube motor stick and way to much for a stock head ls1. plus it's not very streetable and the power band is not that impressive.

conneticut, thanks for the pic! how'd the istall go? any tips you want to share?

Jerry

anyone else wanna chime on how these heads with a T-rex cam would do? or should i just do the TSP stage 2.5 ls6 heads instead?

no offense Jerry, but you must not have taken a look at the fastest "cam only" list because the T-rex is the big dog for guys running stock heads & shortblock. i'm not trying to beat a list however, i'm just trying to maximize my dollar considering what i would spend on new double springs, seals, tit retainers, etc. for a few bucks more, i can upgrade my heads too and go faster.

None at all pray hrd, it's all good , it's a learning experience. so are you saying that you would go with the t-rex cam only and keep everything else stock other than springs, locks......?? or that the whole cam and head package doesn't compare to the t-rex? the only thing that draw's me away from the t-rex is the power band!! I'm 99% most likely going to go w/ the MS4 and stage 1 ls6 heads....

well, funds are certainly going to dictate weather i can afford a new set of heads to go along with a new cam, but if nothing else, i will Definately be going with a T-rex after following along with so many drag racing oriented writeups and results. but if i can pick up these heads at an incredible bargain as they are for just a few hundred more than it will cost for all new parts minus the valves, then yes, i will get these. if funds allow me to go further, than i will consider these heads in a stage 2.5 ported setup.

in no way am i saying that a T-rex cam only car can take one of these pkgs (stage 1 ls6 heads w/MS4), with all other peramiters being equal & identical. i'm just saying that with all the success the T-rex cam owners who have a more drag oriented car have had, i don't see any reason for looking at any other cams really. the T was designed to work beautifully with an otherwise stock motor with full boltons.

as far as the power band is concerned, the fastest "cam only" guys are shifting upwards of 7000rpm and running 10.50 & faster in a lightened car, and mine is likely going to be lighter than ANY of the cam only guys being it's a fox body and with nothing more than an ls1 & tubular K/A-arms, it's already at 2850lbs! my hopes is to run the stage 2.5 heads and a T-rex and run 9's on motor only! but if need be, i'll throw a 100-150 shot on it. only time will tell though.

damn dude, your hardcore!! that's bad ***! well i wish you the best of luck man.

I going to go with the heads/cam route. Im planning on doing some Auto-X not to much and I know the T is not the best set-up. I know the MS4 is not compared to the torquer but i can sacrife some tq #'s for some ponnies..... we'll see what happens
