Default 2001 Fuel pump limits

I'm wondering about what the limits are on the stock 2001 fuel pump (with out an inline). I'm thinking around 475rwhp on a 6spd, or 450rwhp on an A4. What do you guys think?

HI there,
It has been documented within GM that your pump can support 550 horses. No problem.

Wow did they change the pump in 2001? I know the 99 pump can have problems with 425rwhp.

Terry, the 01's have the better pump like the 98's did. They can handle upwards of 500 rwhp before maxing out. A buddy of mine dyno'd 493 rwhp on a stock pump in his 01 and fuel pressure was still around 50 psi <img src="images/icons/shocked.gif" border="0">

HI there,
The drop of is not necessarily due to the fuel pump itself, it may be due to the different designs with the pressure regulator, and the returnless system of the newer design.
Just be sware of this when tuning your system. YOu should have 55-61 at the rail, plain and simple. Output of pressure could be as high as 75 when not regulated.Besttoyou,

Remember that that's like 520-530 FWHP. I'm sure that's the GM rating - FWHP.
