Default need help, is my MAFT shot?

I'll try to condense this as much as possible. About 100 miles after installing a translator on my car, I keep getting DTC's. They are PO171 and PO174 system too lean. This is with the base setting at 0 (no change), the WOT setiing is at 2% lean. With these settings the Ltrims are at 25% on both sides. If I try to adjust the translator to 5%,10%,15% more rich the Ltrims never change. Before the translator, the car ran rich at WOT. O2's were in the .950 range. When I tried to lean it out, (2%,4%), the O2's never went down. Lastly, when I simply disconnect the translator and restart the car the Ltrims drop to 15.6%. I'm really starting to think the MAFT is bad. The car has heads/cam/intake, stock MAF with ported ends, and Ed Wright programming among other things. Any opinions?

Check the connections unfortunately one of the MAFT connectors on the "harness" end will go on in both directions. The easy way to tell is make sure the pink wires on the harness are macthed to the pink wires on the MAFT.

I've checked and double-checked, it's connected properly. What about these symptoms, have you or anyone else heard of anything like this?

I'd call them and ask to send it back for them to test.

BTW, Since you paid EW for tuning, why not have him get your PCM right and sell the MAFT (assuming it is good)?

Which MAF are you using?

If you using aftermarket, I'd switch the stock one back on and see if the MAFT works any different with it or vice-versa.

I was told the MAFT doesn't work as well with aftermarket MAF's as with the stock ones by Ramchargers, but this was about a year ago. Since then Ramchargers added a calibration chip for LS6 MAF's.

There was something about making sure the grounds were secure because some of the vette owners had problems and had chips to the MAFT regulate the voltage in the MAF. Ramcharges told me this was a grounding issue rare with fbodies but it could hurt to check the grounds.

Thanks for the responses guys. I disconnected the MAFT and Ltrims droped to 15.6% last night. When I warmed the car up today, they had dropped to 13.3%. I shut the car down and reconnected the translator, making sure it was plugged in correctly. The Ltrims stayed the same, so I made some A-tap logs and started to richen the MAFT. When set at 10% rich the Ltrims looked good, averaging about 2%. So I guess my problem just vanished. I'm absolutely certain it was hooked up correctly before. There have not been any DTC's either. My PCM was at Ed Wright's many times adjusting shift points, and for other things. Every time I send it, it costs me $60 for overnight shipping. I'm done sending that thing in.
