Could you achieve the same goal by using a resistor to the IAT sensor? Simply relay it up so when you desire retard it applies a value that corresponds to 150F, or whatever the boundry it.

I guess how effective this is would depend on what your ambient temp is, etc.

already doing it with the IAT.
does not pull enough timing.

Tony- this is a blower application. If it was easy I was gonna try it until my water/alky injection system is complete.

Guess I just have to get off my butt and finish the water injection <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0">

Thanks for the reply.

Default paging 9ball KS question

is there a value I can plug into the circut to make the pcm think they are disconnected and get the 4 degrees of timing pulled?

I don't want to just unplug them, I only want this to kick in when I want it to.

thanks.

No, there isn't a resistor you can just stick in the plug to fool the PCM. It tests the knock sensors by watching for their voltage changes. If the PCM thinks the knock sensors are disconnected or too low on sensitivity it will set a few SES codes and will default to a solid -4 degrees KR.

Unfortunately, this SES must be cleared with AutoTap or a GM TECH 2. It will not go away by simply plugging back in the knock sensors.

I suppose you want to do this for nitrous perhaps?
