Default FTRA question.

I'm really interested in the FTRA system, but live in Florida and want to know how much benefit I lose if I don't have the lower ram air plate installed due to the heat in the summer. How about the front seal on an SS model car? Does it increase performance significantly? A couple of us have a trip to dyno day next Sat and I have a feeling someone will try me on the interstate on the way over. I want the extra advantage <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[Burnout]" /> . Thanks in advance.

why wouldnt you install the lower plate? the air coming into it is cooler than what is in the engine bay. i dont own a ss but it did increase performance for me. i dont know by how many h.p but the engine is louder than before the ftra. my track times went down also.

i installed mine today with the help of a couple friends...it was a PITA to install i really wouldnt want to do another one.....its all in and working just had to do some major hack work to my lower air box...ohhwell its faster now with the addition of the pulley <img src="images/icons/grin.gif" border="0"> so i really cant complain <img src="images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">

The reason I wouldn't use the lower piece is due to it blocking a large portion of radiator. I would run it the rest of the time. Keep the replies coming.

I just bought a FTRA tonight. I'll install it on Friday. Any tips that could make it go alittle smoother. Seems like a quality product so far. Can't wait to test it out. <img src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" />
