Default Take a look at this...

I was chatting with an import guy and he said he would like to try this combo on an LS1. He installs turbos, superchargers, and nitrous on several LS1 equipped vehicles. He has a good knowledge of turbos and engine management software. He made a 240SX hit high 10's on drag radials so that is pretty impressive.

Well he said he would like to see an iron block bored out to 4.030" and change the stroke to 3.375". He says this is about 345 cubic inches.

He would like to do a twin turbo or single turbo set-up and use Speedpro to do the engine managing.

He says destroking it will allow it to rev higher and produce some really good top end. He says someething like that would be a good highway monster.

He did say the drivetrain would need to be modified extensively for the horsepower it will create.

He said if I was interested in something like that I should go to a M6.

I was just curious of what yall think about this.

The 4.8L stroke is 3.268" which would give you a 333 cid engine with a 4.030" bore. Bore to stroke ratio would be 1.23 or the same as the old Gen I SBC 327cid engine.

Hmmm....Will he do the work for free, if I supply the parts? I could always change the Motor Combo, but I thought no matter how high you revved the motor to, it would top out due to Intake limitations and/or Heads not flowing enough air. Sig Check.

If you get serious look into a 4.8 truck crank. Or get an aftermarket one.
