Eff...rust on my crankshaft
Well, I've had my short block sitting for a while. I was did well with keeping it lubricated and in a thick, plastic bag while it sat on the engine stand to prevent corrosion. I took it out because I decided to use it for a school CAD project. I used some rags on the ends to carry it and I guess some of the oil rubbed off. Now there's rust on the back end of the crank where it looks like the flywheel bolt on. Luckliy all of the counter weights and bearing surfaces are rust free. Is my crankshaft junk now? Help!
