Hey all,
Recently did a H/C/I install, and because of what I thought were vacum related issues, decided to check intake manifold torque specs. None of the bolts held the original 89"lbs after 1k miles. As I was re-torqueing the #1 bolt in the sequence, it wouldn't draw up snug and before I knew it, had split the bolt hole shroud down the side to the bottom of the shroud. Tq. wrench was set @ 89"lbs for the second pass. WTF??? After looking at the old intake, it looks like it would've/ should've taken ALOT more than 89"lbs to do that. Is it possible that it was a bad/ weak casting?
Have the LS1 intake I can swap out until I can get another LS6 intake, but wasn't sure if there would be any "issues" useing the T1, and S2 heads.
TIA for any thoughts on this!

Personally, I'd JB Weld it (Devcon) and put it back on. I've done it to aluminum intakes, and all kinds of plastic parts with great results. Buy it at any auto shop.
If you don't want to risk it, I'll give you $40 for it.
