Default Jesel Mohawks valve covers?

Anybody had any luck gutting the stock valve covers when running the jesel j2k mohawks? The article in GM High Tech did this and it seemed to have worked. I want to keep my coil brackets on the cover as I don't care for the long wires when it is relocated. Thanks!

John

I will be running TFS 215's with them. They have the rocker rail raised a lil, so maybe they will fit.

stock heads and AFRs required a 1/2" spacer. I've run both with the Jesels.

Just follow the pic's and you will be fine. This shouldn't take you more than a 1/2 hr. The most critical part will be when you go to grind the driver side valve cover by the PVC grommet. Take your time so that you don't grind through the valve cover. Constantly be feeling the thickness of the cover where it sqaures off for the PCV from the rounded part of the cover. Because once you get the top of the rouded stud (on the inside of the cover next to the above metioned corner) removed it gets real thin quick.
