Default What did you pay?

To have your bottom end built?

To just have stock stroke/bore stuff put in... just stronger?

Who took the motor out? Who put it back in?

are you looking for machining cost for the block, or labor to assemble it?

about $300 to have my block cleaned and honed and my crank polished.

$200 or so for bearings

$160 for katech rod bolts

less than $100 for stock rings from GM.

$60-80 for stock GM main bolts.

then LS2 chain and TSP pump.

all assemebled by me. someone would most likely charge another $500 or so to assemble it.

Just cleaning of the block... and labor to too disassemble and reassemble the block. Basically... I am trying to find out the cost of building the stock cubed engine of a LS1 with a lower compression setup that'll handle 550-600whp from a Turbo. I know that's a baby setup which is why I don't think the bottom end parts should cost to much. Just it's taking the motor out, cleaning it, etc.

start looking into a cast iron 6.0

sell your complete LS1 minus oil pan, pickup tube and water pump and buy an LQ4. start from there.

Yea? How much could I get for it?

Start with a built motor? That I would rip apart?

$800-1500 for a LQ4. just pull your heads, oil pan, water pump and intake off your LS1 and put them on the LQ4 bottom end. while you are in there replace rod bolts. and if you want to spend more money go in and do pistons and or rods
