valve cover gaskets
no tricks just take time. if you have a buddie that will help because you only have problems till you get till the last part of the gasket,therefor your buddie can hold the gasket that is already in place and you can put the remainder gskt that isnt in that little grove in .
well i was able to do it on my own when they some how came off. when you get to the last part of the gskt press down the gskt thats around the part where ther gskt is not in ( preventing it from slipping out) and with the other try to put in the remainder of the gskt.

I did the ends first, then push down towards the middle.....used gaskets may have stretched, make sure you're not stretching them anymore while installing them. A new set may go in easier, but I've reused my stockers twice with no problems...
No matter what i did with my gaskets they wouldn't go on... Was told by a few people the oil/pressure over time expands them to the point it's almost impossible to put back on... Got a new set from Advance Auto for about 17bucks... cheap insurance considering the smallest tear and it'll leak oil...

place the gasket loosely over the channel it sits in. Now play the opposite game, kind of like the torque pattern for lugs. Push one side in, then push the opposite, then split the difference on one side, then go directly opposite that. so on and so fourth. The problem with doing it in one continuous line is that you inadvertantly wind up stretching the gasket as you push it in. Doing it in spots opposite from one another will keep it from stretching out.
