Got a K&N air filter and got out the Dremel...
according to my calibrated butt (traceble to NIST! ) the car pulls harder above 4000 RPM - hard enough to break the Firehawks loose in 1st. Onlydrawback is I guess I got a little carried away cutting out the radiator air deflector because the temp gauge reads a lot higher now. Oh well.
Now I need a cat-back system - can I have my Chevy dealer install the SLP? I'm still (supposedly) under warrantee, and if it's technically a GM product...

Actually, not so much voiding my existing warrantee, but getting a GM warrantee on the catback itself, if they sell and install it.
Also it's VERY cramped for space here and I can't really do it myself...

Get the Corsa cat-back. The sound is great and the TIPS are the best looking out there. It has a lifetime warantee and is 100% stainless. Muffler shop can install in an hour probably 40-50 bucks.
The Corsa ain't the cheapest out there but it is a nice well made system and the company has been around a while.
Did I say the TIPS looked good?

I couldn't break the SZ50's loose when they were brand new, but after a few 1000 miles they spin like a ****.

not dropping the clutch - just slowly accelerating until the tach hits 4000, then mashing the gas
makes an angry squeal and the traction light comes on
didn't used to do that
got about 8000 miles on these tires; plenty of tread left.

the car appears to pull better above 4000 RPM, that's all -
hey, I still have the CAL sticker on my butt!
