breather filter question

breather filter question I'm a straight up idiot so I decided to cut that pipe which is supposed to have the breather filter on it. Now I got the tube to a perfect size but the thing is that I messed by not having a perfect cut and can't cut it any more then what it is now to make it perfect. Now I did my best to make it perfect but there still might be little gaps where air/dirt etc can get through. Is there any way this will hurt my car because if it does I will go under the car and cut some more to try to get it to 100% perfect! Its not like there isn't a breather filter on there but its not 100% agaisn't the tube (minor gap) Also where does the air or wahtever go from that tube???????

Re: breather filter question Okay basically I was installing a direct flo lid today. I hate the red colored breather filter so I decided that I will cut the tube thing that the filter goes on. I'm just dumb so when I cut it its like kinda messed up cutting. So basically the breather is not exactly sealed with the tube like it would have been if I left it alone. Now basically what I want to know is if there are little gaps between where the filter meets the tube will that cause anything bad to happen because small amounts of dirt will be able to get in?? Also I would like to know what the breather filter line (that tube thing) is for. Hope thats clear!

OMG man!!!!!! I'm not a mechanic here just a 16 year old. Basically the tube which the BREATHER FILTER GOES ON on a 2001 TRANS AM. That is what I am talking about!
