Default New SLP lid info....

Guys, I have been looking into the new SLP lid that is an option on the 02 SS and Firehawk. I found a good picture of it and it looks a lot larger than all the aftermarket lids. I called Tom at SLP and he told me that they spent alot of time comming up with this design. He feels that it will out flow all the other lids including the one SLP sells now. The Donaldson filter also flows better than K@N and other filters. He said that these lids will not crack and that they will drop the lid they sell now because this one is much improved. The bad news is you can't buy one yet as it is only being sold if you buy a new SS or Firehawk. Tom thinks they will be out in the spring or summer of 02. He didn't have pricing yet but it will be higher than whats out now. They are working with Donaldson to sell a reusable filter to go with the lid. Thought I'd share the info..Joe

If it costs too much more they probably won't sell many. All aftermarket lids flow really well and pose very little of a restriction compared to the MAF and Throttle Body. I doubt the better flow numbers will show up at the tires...even on a big motor.
