LS1 engine weight and best way to ship an engine? Im buying a complete used crated LS1 with all accessories bolted on. Can anybody tell me approximately how much this weighs? I need to have a figure when I talk to freight companies.
Can anybody recommend a cost effective way to ship this?

Re: LS1 engine weight and best way to ship an engine? You may want to contact Scott at http://www.speedautomotive.com He ships these all of the time and knows who is the cheapest and most reliable. As a data point for you, it cost me $350 to have my LS1/T56 shipped cross country.

Re: LS1 engine weight and best way to ship an engine? Call K&K express. Its an air/ground freight company and has good rates. They pick up at any location in the country and ship to anywhere.
