i have a 98 trans am A4, with a gmaf and airlid, with nittos and i can only get it to go 13.7 @ 99, the code on the door for the gears is gu5 which is the 3.42 i think but i looked under the car and the cover on the rear has numbers painted on it like it was from a junk yard, i bought it used obviously, but it just seems to die on the top end for some reason. all replys are greatly appreciated thank you. <img src="graemlins/gr_zzz.gif" border="0" alt="[boring]" />

The lowest gear ratio you can get in an A4 is 3:23. Your et is not that bad, but your mph is horrible. What are your 6oft and 1/8 mile times? What is the elevation of your track? Have you dynoed the car?

well if your running pig rich because of that GMAF, getting some false knock somewhere, and still spinning your tires horribly...i can believe your times. it would be wise to invest in Autotap and some dyno time to see whats wrong. Also, GU5 = 3.23, GU2 = 2.73, and GU6 = 3.42 (MN6-only).

You need to find someone to autotap your car for you or invest in one. Are you using premium fuel...clean air filter? Do you have a stock MAF to try. ET is not so bad as thats really just a function of traction...MPH should be a good 103 I would imagine.

I agree with the replies about the GMS MAF. When I had it on my car I got 23 degrees timing. So I took it off,put the ends on the stock electronics and got back to the 27 degree range.
