REALLY depends on the cam. and not just the lift of the cam either. that being said, many many many people are running 11+++:1 with out problems. a good way to start is by getting 5.3L heads. the chamber is smaller, so you have to mill less to get more (compression).

Very good point Ryan. I forgot to say a couple of things when I made this post......
Assuming I run a 5.3L head, and TR 224,112 cam....What kind of compression #'s am I lookin at safely?

if you mill the 5.3 head mildly (less the .020) id say you'd be in the neighbor hood of 11:1. i really dont know the specs so i would call Jayson at MTI or Geoff at TR. a stock chamber'd 5.3 head puts you at like 10.4 or 10.6:1, but i dont know the exact cc's. the thunder cam should have no problems with p-to-v clearance.
