I picked up a Hooker catback from Thunder Racing, and before I put it on is there anything I can do to prevent it from rusting? My friend said I can spray some kind of ceramic spray on the inside and out and it will not rust. Any ideas?

I have read somewhere that the hooker ends
will tend to rust with the condensation
from the exhaust. It doenst get that hot
back there so I might try some clear crylon
paint on the tips..

Justin, I went to a parts store and picked up some high temp clear coat. Coated the entire exhaust system, and 9 months later it stills looks almost brand new. I didnt coat the tips however, but if you keep them clean and use chrome polish a lot they'll stay nice a purty.
BTW, I would LOVE to know how your car sounds with this setup. I am keeping my Hooker catback for my 2002 and i'll be running a TR224 cam. The Hooker sounds SWEET, on a stock car without cats, so I am very curious to know what it sounds like with a lumpy cam. Let me know when you install it!!!

Thanks guys. Damian I'm interested to hear how it sounds too. The Borla just had too much resonance for my taste. Plus the Hooker catback is easily removable for the track. I'll see if I can get some sound clips once I install it.
Did you spray the inside of the pipes too or just the outside?

I bought VHT FlameProof Coating (1200*) and sprayed inside and out. It doesn't need a primer, however it takes forever to cure.
