Default Affordable WideBand

I received the following link from a pal on one of the diy-efi lists:

http://fjoinc.com/automotive/WBO2details.htm#wbo2rpm

Anyone checked it out? Looks like a quality WB could be had for 500 or so, logging a couple hundred more.

Good link, but where are you getting it for $500? The cheapest kit I saw with the wideband O2 sensor, controller box, and LED display was $745.

The diy guy who sent me there was just buying the box, and using a sensor from a cheaper source. It looks like a $700+ expenditure to be usable.

How about this for dignastics? Less than $500. # forthe scall, and 150 for the PDA, depending on what kind you get, and it can be more usefull when not running the car. Anyone use it?

That's pretty neat, an ATAP-like device. But, if you're trying to determine the a/f, the stock switching o2's and ODBII readouts are supposedly not useful.

It would be pretty kick-*** to use a PDA with an IBM microdrive to record all ODBII data. Hey. anyone wann by my ATAP??

Whoops - it looks like it doesn't do continuous logging - bummer

Yeah dave, you saw the thread on CZ28 about the DIY wideband right??

I'm near complete on the board layout for the controller board. Seems the DIY folks had there run of the boards and are done.

Then i need to do the readout design/layout.

is less than $300 with sensor affordable??

Harlan the DIY setup does not have datalogging capabilities does it. Yes wideband is useful but if you dont have a rpm vs afr then it makes it a little hard to tune. The DIY looks pretty neat though about 250 bucks for the honda sensor and a few bucks worth components, then just need a display. It probably would not be that difficult to wire up a D/A converter and serial port so that data logging could be achieved.

I think "affordable" and "LS1" don't belong in the same sentence!
