I have a few questions about LS1 edit. I myself will not be purchasing it, rather my questions are about byproducts of the programs release. When the program goes public will the person who buys it be able to program more than one car? The next question is, if not, when shops get a multiple user version will custom program prices go down? I assume this program will make programming easier and more affordable. Any comments? TIA

Actually, you would be able to buy the user-level (not tuner-level) cable, and still program multiple cars. I believe it's $100 per additional car, but it does have a maximum limit of (I believe) 9 or so.
It's going to be a while before it's out, though. End of August has now slipped to end of January for the 99-00 version. The 97-98 and 01-02 versions will follow thereafter.

If I understand correctly, MTI is already using the shop version...
