Default K-tech tensioner install help needed.

Do I need I puller to get stock pulley off of tensioner? Do you think I should remove pulley bolt before removing tensioner and pulley? Thanks!

No puller needed. It just bolts on. It comes off easy so it doesn't matter if you do it on or off the car. I guess it'd be easier holding it if it's on the car.

Thank you.

Once I have the K-teck tensioner on the car with the pulley, how do I tension the belt? Have to pull belt tight then tighten bolt in slider???

Thanks again

On the corvette version, you insert a 3/8 drive extension into the tensioner and use a ratchet to tension the belt. Then tighten the bolt when in the correct location. You want to get it pretty tight.

Thanks guys!! It went on with no problems. However it did not solve my belt squaele. In fact I shredded the belt! Fortunately I was right down the block from my house when this happened, and I dont think I did any major damage! I guess I know why the belt was squealling now - it was bad. Or maybe I mis-routed it when I put it back on ? But I don't think so.

Anyway - anyone know the part number for the Gates belt when you have an SLP underdrive pulley?

Thanks!
