Default Are '99 and '02 PCM's interchangeable?

I have a spare '99 PCM that I would like to send to Ed Wright. I now have a '02 Ws6. Will the re-flashed '99 PCM work in my '02? Or did GM change the pin-out?

Hawk,

When you say " if it's done right " what exactly do you mean? Are you saying the '99 will work in my '02?

I've mixed PCM with different year vehicles.
the '99-up PCMs are all the same save for the program in them. I can program any '99up PCM for any year you want.

Mike,

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna have stage 1 heads with the '01 LS6 cam installed on the car pretty soon. I'm also gonna install a Vig.#7. Can you delete the torque management and raise the idle speed for the cam and converter?

Exactly. don't try to stick a 99 cal in an 02 box without matching up the right software.

The hardware is identical.

So the '98 hardware is different but all the rest are the same?

Ed told me at the time that we HAD to have a '00 core for my '00 car. Just another one of his 'ole wives tales I guess.
