Default Crankshaft question

I was thinking that when I get the money to do the heads/cam swap, that it might be a good idea to have the engine rebuilt with forged pistons and assorted goodies for the insides since I'll be spraying it too . I'm wondering though, how many cubic inches are to be gained if I have the crankshaft offset ground for a little more stroke ? What kind of numbers would we be looking at and would there be any durability issues with this being a daily driver?

Offset grinding the stock crank is worth 10-11 ci usually, not sure how this would effect durability. I would think it would weaken it some though.

I use to sell alot of Ford stroker kits. We always used the 10-15 percent durability loss with off-set ground cranks. So if the stock crank is good to 600, off-set grinding it would take it down to 510-540. I personally believe the stock crank can hold 700hp in short bursts such as drag racing without too much worry. Its pretty stout for a stock offering.

Harlan has been pushing nearly 600 rwhp and ~660 rwtq thru his stock crank for a few weeks (maybe a month or 2 now?). That throws you into the low 500rwhp area.

Hmmmm, well I was kind of planning on about mid to high 500's at the wheels when I'm done. We'll see I guess. Anybody out there done this? Any other opinions?

CEndres' car had a 4.100 bore + offset ground crank and displaced about 393ci.

Went 10.6@128mph at 3450 raceweight, with LS6 heads, 12:1 compression, and solid cam.

I have an offset ground LS1 crank(3.72"stroke) and eagle 6" H-beam forged rods I might sell, never used, ready to go-balanced and all, all you need is the piston setup, e-mail me if you're interested
