With stock exhaust, is there a y-pipe that shows a gain over OEM without modificatons I'm keeping the cats.I know the collector is restrictive, but is there an aftermarket Y-pipe that is ready to go and will show some improvement to justify the expense even if it's used? <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">

I used to run a 2.5" y-pipe from LG Motorsports, I saw a gain of about 3-5hp. Your not going to see much either route you go. Personally, if you can afford it, I would grab some headers and a 3" Y-pipe, but if you can't and want a little power, go for it. And remember, you can always sell it later if you decide to do the headers further down the line. I sold my old Y-pipe within 3 days of putting it up for sale in the classifieds. Hope this helps.
