What is the break-in period for Heads and Cam??
At 500miles, let it hit 5000 a few times. Once you hit 500 miles change your oil. When changing your oil, save the filter and cut it open with a hack saw. If there are metal shavings in your filter, something is wrong take it back. If the filter looks clean and just has oil... I would assume that while you are sawing the filter in half, that you would be introducing tons of little metal fragments from cutting into the filter. So how you you know what was in the engine and what was caused by you sawing?

I was wondering what the break in period is for heads and cam before I can stomp on it? Is is just like breaking in a new car? Vary RPMs, etc etc..?
Any help would be great..
Dan

Basically I had a whole engine rebuilt. New cam, springs, and midly ported heads? Should I just let it warm up and drive it for a while, shut her down do the same then get on it?
