Default Talon WS6 S1 Dyno numbers

Went to La Roccas today, (732) 723-1500 It's raining bad, the first 2 pulls on the dyno were aborted due to the fact that the car was slipping and doing burnouts on the rollers. I will have Bob 2of3 scan and post the sheets tonight. I will just sum it up as the next three runs were 396.8 hp and 383.1 tq. 4,800 RPM and up, the AF was trimming the wrong way, it was at 12.7-8 all the way to red line and the translator for some reason couldn't really fix it. When I adjusted leaner, all it would do is put a "hump" in the curve and go right back to 12.7? I don't understand that, I think it has to go back to Cartek for an editing tweak due to the fact the LS6 cam has been removed for the 218/.527/114 cam. This is posted just to clear up any misconceptions or misrepresentations of what our S1 heads are capible of with a 218 cam and un modded Mac's W/ ORP.
Excuses. AF was not exactly good for peak numbers. 3.73 gears, dynoing through Borla cat back. Non Modded Mac's. No "short belt" was used on the dyno.

Moving in a positive direction, Pullies, EWP, Edit, Mod the Macs.

Those changes should put him over 414 RWH at that point.
Joe.
The Above numbers ARE SAE corrected, the actual STD was 407.6 hp 393.4 TQ

Correction Factor for the Dyno was 0.98 SAE.

Wow!!!

Great numbers Joe.

Who said you needed stage 2 to see 400 rwhp.

See you tomorrow. <img src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" border="0" alt="[hail]" />

12.7 on the dyno is not that bad. Thats maybe 13.0 at the strip due to increased load. Very good #'s that prove your heads do very well. P.S. when can I buy an electric water pump. <img src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Small point...Actual != STD...STD is a corrected number from what I've seen, and I consider "actual" numbers to be uncorrected.

Either way, cool numbers.

FWIW, my car made 405rwhp with a 218/224 cam on IRS heads with ls6 intake, through B&B catback and unmodded macs a year or so ago.

Looks good! I really liked the track times JS was putting down with the 216 cam and your heads. Its too bad he decided to switch.

Awesome numbers, and there is still some more in there... all that power out of a stage 1 head and a mild cam, very <img src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" border="0"> ! <img src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" border="0" alt="[hail]" /> <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[Burnout]" />

The heads in Talon's car have stock sized valves. Your IRS heads had 2.02/1.57's and were considered Stage 2.

Take a dremel tool or small grinder and grind out the excess welds in the primarys. Then on the collector end you either cut off the collector and put a standard 3 bolt collector there, or simply grind part of the ball-flange collector away for better flow. If you've seen the ball-flange, you know the inside diameter of it is a bit smaller than the collector diameter, and can stand to be modded.

Great results Joe/Tom!!!
That 218-224 Cam works!!!
I forget who u guys got it off of <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">

No doubt Joe's heads work VERY WELL
I ran 11.42@117.47 w/them and the TR Cam at a race weight of 3550lbs.

Joe all u need now is a pulley, ported Macs and a cutout and u WILL see another 12RWHP..

Should EASILY make 410RWHP

Terry,I went Cartek becasue Julio/Dave made me a deal I couldnt pass up.36 EXTRA FLYWHEEL HP/TQ from 4000 to redline over my S1 setup and over 405RW threw an AUTO!!

I have BIG plans now for my car
I can tell ya this much,I didnt change to run in the 11's anymore <img src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" border="0" alt="[devil]" />

I like the excuses part..I mean I too have a Moser 12 bolt with 4.10's, no shortbelt and unmodded MACs and 17x11 wheels with 315's.

The reason I like it is that it would be great if we could use an engine dyno to find out exactly what kind of hp we are talking about form car to car without the drivetrain scewing up the results.
