Default Question about latest LS1 USA engines?

Hi all,

Just wondering if the latest range of LS1 engines in the USA are equipped with the improved polymer coated pistons & rings developed for the LS6 from the factory? In the article: "Beyong Awesome" Halverson reports that GM were planning to make these changes but it wasn't clear when they would be made.

Many of us that own LS1 powered Holdens down under are experiencing similar problems to what you have with oil consumption, piston slap etc, even detonation issues due to carbon build-up from burning oil . In some instances Holden are replacing complete engines & was just wondering whether the replacement engines would have all the latest improvements.

Any information/comments would be much appreciated

The 6 liter LS1 in the Cadillac Escalade sport utility has coated pistons.
