I wouldn't port where the throttle blade seals when shut. Your IAC pintel position counts will go down to maintain your idle (same effect as drilling the idle air hole out bigger.) If you let too much air past the blade your IAC counts will go to zero, causing a code and shutdown of the IAC.

Well not for sure or anything, but I think you just fu(ked up your TB.

You ported the TB where the throttle blade sits? When the throttle blade is closed, you can see in between the blade and the body? If so, you are screwed. Only port the lip that sits in front of the blade, not under the blade too.

Suprised your idle didn't jump up from the additional air being drawn in. It should be like you did the TB hole mod and went apeshit. lol

Cons: You have to buy a new TB
Pros: You can buy a BBK TB that would go great with a H/C setup.

Maybe you can go with it, I don't know for sure.

And what Colonel said.

Actually I didn't do that good of a job porting where the blade sits (luckily!) After I did it last night I turned off the lights and held a flashlight behind the closed blade. Hardly any light came through the area between the blade and the wall. Actually I really couldn't see the light. I was going to port it more because of this but I was tired and it was late so I just put it back on. Damn! Good thing I did. I think it may be at the maximum port right now! Once again, damn! I am not having any problems with my car running funny or anything. Like I said, it even feels like it is pulling a little better (breathing a little harder.)

Thanks for telling me when to stop!

Do you have a-tap? Also did you grind down the throttle bump stop? Bump stop mod That will help you when doing it.

Default Porting MAF & Porting Throttle Body?

I know you can buy larger maf(s) and throttle bodies and I also know that you can do this your self by porting these items with a dremel etc.

How many of you have done this yourself. I ported my MAF big time and I spray painted it Chevrolet Orange. It looks bad ***, I'll post pics. But I have heard that on the throttle body you can only really polish the lip? Is this true? Yesterday I took my TB off and ported the whole inner from the Blade down to the lip. I also turned the blade open and ported out the area where the blade closes. I felt somewhat of a difference. Do you know how much rwhp we should be getting on our cars with a larger tb and maf?

Yes, I did that a few months ago and it felt like crap until the computer learned what I did. All together my car feels great now.
