tbick != gauge

Anyway, it all depends on the cam, and cam manufacturers dont routinely give that info as it can vary from car to car depending on the install, if it was degreed, and as a timing chain stretches. You need to measure.

a guy on one of the local forums was selling a set of ported heads that were milled about .040 for really cheap, he said that the largest cam he would recommend running was about a 220 duration. i am interested in them but i do not want to flycut the pistons and would like to run a larger cam. i just like to keep an eye out for good deals, but will most likely pass on those heads.

Just for posterity's sake, I thought I'd mention that I did mill 0.040" and run the 0.040" gaskets. No problems. The intake manifold dropped right in and the bolts threaded without any problem.

But you dont know how well the ports on the manifold and heads lined up together. You knocked off .050 so the actual port openings could misaligned, this can easily be fixed by just port matching the manifold, very easy to do with a FAST intake since its a multi piece design.

What cam is in your setup? I didnt see it in your sig.
