Actually, a 2 bolt main LT1 can handle close to 700 HP just by adding main studs. 2 bolt main Gen-I and Gen-II blocks aren't as bad as some people say.

well that certainly makes me feel better, i just bought a brand new 2 bolt lt1 383 with arp main studs that should put out 475-500 N/A. lifetime warranty covers up to 650 hp, so im happy to hear that from someone else, especially an LS1 owner.

I did a heads/cam on a 156k 2-bolt LT1 shortblock and it ran 13.4 in the quarter in a 4700 lb. Caprice 9C1. I beat on it every day with no issues, close to 200 passes before I sold it. According to the ET chart on the impalass forum, I had the second quickest Comp 502 cammed B-body around. Considering yours is a built shortblock with studs, I wouldn't hesitate to wail on it. It'll hold up.

the compression is 11:1 and it is a brand new block so i could probably squirt a little juice if i had to.

I dont think he was referring to spraying on it, but I dont see where that would hurt. Just dont go throwing any 250single wet shots at it

Stock crank and block proven past 800 - 1000 HP. Not sure if it was using the stock mains or billet ones, and almost certainly ARP hardware, but still rather impressibe IMO.
