Dynomax muffler with headers and orp? Have raspy sound around 2k?

Dynomax muffler with headers and orp? Have raspy sound around 2k? With my mac headers and orp I have a horrible raspy loud popping between 2-2.5rpms even with a bullet in the I-pipe. Does a dynomax muffler have this rasp? What is the best sounding muffler to use with headers and orp?

Re: Dynomax muffler with headers and orp? Have raspy sound around 2k? I used to have that popping raspy sound before i had my headers on and just the Loud mouth. Since getting the headers installed my car no longer pops and the drone/resonance has improved. Your car will pop and sound raspy because you dont have cats. I think that with an off road pipe you'll get that raspy poping sound from pretty much any muffler. I have been thinking of replacing my Loud Mouth in order to quiet it down a bit and have been told that the stock set up would sound good with headers. i dont know if I want to go back to a stock cat back but I'm looking into getting a more sound deadning muffler.
Another route which you might look at is getting two more dynomax bullet muffler and placing them on your y-pipe Instead of just having one on your I-pipe. That is what people running without cats usually do. I doubt you'll want to spend another $80 on bullet muffler and then have 3 on your car.
I was looking at getting Dynomax's ultra flow round muffler but I dont htink it will fit since its 6inch and some guy on here put a 5inch Borla muffler and said that it barely fit.

Re: Dynomax muffler with headers and orp? Have raspy sound around 2k? same problem on my 99 SS with mac headers, ory, and flowmaster cat back. no bullet though. exact same noise at exact same rpm band. annoying as hell. let me know what fixes this as i garauntee i will do the same.

Re: Dynomax muffler with headers and orp? Have raspy sound around 2k? I was running SLP loudmouth and off road pipes in place of factory cats, no headers though. It was extremely loud and very raspy and untuned sounding. I added a dynomax bullet right before the passenger side exhaust tip and another right where the factory muffler hangs. There is still a drone/resonance but the rasp is completely gone and it is a hell of a lot quieter.
