Default Break in for new motor.. what should be done?

Okay guys,

First the Backround...

Earlier this year metal shavings started showing on the oil plug. The oil pressure was 5-10psi lower than it used to be..

Out came the motor...
Looks like clearences on the crank were pretty bad, and looked to be an oil issue.

So while i was in the motor I decided to swap out my Advanced air flow engineering (ron sharp in MI) heads and custom spec comp cam extreme For a set of ARE Stage 2 2.08 heads and a Lunati 226/234 cam.

Goin up from a "blower friendly" 9.8-1 comp to 10.8-1 comp. Threw in some Comp R lifters, a brand new stock crank, all new bearings with some Clevitte H bearings for the rods. And some arp rod bolts just because. We then finished up the new parts by adding an ARE oil pump as well...

So basicly the motor is a full rebuild right down to the new crosshatch and piston rings...

And to recap its a ARE stage 2 heads and cam, ls6 intake, SVO rated (30psi) injectors (more like 37-38? at our pressue) Ported throttle body, and verioues other little things. Oh and a coated set of MACs..

Everything is just about together and we will be fireing it up soon.. another week or two..

Any thoughts or suggestions???

Try to keep the RPM's under 3k for the first 500 miles. Then keep them under 4K for another 500.

Once you put about 900-1000 miles on your new engine setup, change the oil again. Once you change the oil, you can feel free to JUMP on the throttle and start your engine down the path of learning "Speed 101" <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">

I have had very good results with my 13 other cars that I have owned. Not saying my way is the best way, but its just my opinion and what I have found to work well.
