Valve train noise????
I have an 01 WS-6 with only 6,000 miles. It sounds like half of the rockers are loose. All the noise is from the top end on the engine. Have tried 4 different oil brands with NO change in the racket. Does not go away when the car warms up either. And I do not want the monkies at the dealership touching it IF I do not have to. ANY help or ideas would be greatly appreciated?????? AND does anybody elses sound like this with LOW miles.....

Re: Valve train noise????
have you ruled out injector noise. this is terribly loud on most 99 and newer cars and is the most common cause for engine noise at the dealership I work at. seems like one in ten are really loud.

Checked the injectors, its DEFINITELY the rockers/lifters. Can hear the tick of the injectors, its clacking and toc toc in the valvetrain. But it still runs good, SOOOOOO I haven't a good clue...

Re: Valve train noise????
My 02 collector edition is also making a noise
its not to loud but it sounds like a lifter or a rocker. i took it to the dealership with only
893 miles. They said its normal. It also makes a noise in the valve train. It sounds like the
rear axle, only happens when i slow down.

Mine has that sound too. I know its the valve train after each oil change, it realy makes the clacking sound for a breif moment until the oil pressure comes up to spec. I'm thinking of taking the covers off and checking the slack in my rocker assemblies. Mine is a 2000 TA WS6 with 34000 miles. It runs like new though. I'm running 10W-30 Synthetic. I tried Castrol Syntec and that stuff breaks down in viscosity when it gets hot so I switched back to what I was using before.
