6.0 engine 317 heads or 241
99 s-10 5.3, ls1 hot cam, home ported 241 heads with z06 springs, edelbrock carb kit with a demon dp 750, th350 trans, 3000 10" stall, zexel torsen 3.42 rear end
i have had this running for a year now with no problems runs and drives great and runs high 11's in the 1/4
i just picked up a 2003 6.0 long block with 317 heads, what do you think will make more power, the stock 317 heads or swapping my 241 heads to the 6.0
i will be swapping all other components from my 5.3 to the 6.0 engine
i have a 5.3 in my s-10 now, i am replacing it with a 6.0 engine, the question is should i keep the 317 head on the 6.0 or swap out the home ported 241's that i have on my 5.3 now

As for your question, that depends on how well your port job flows. If you didn't mess with the chambers then you'll end up with more compression from the smaller chambers and increased bore of the 6.0 and possibly a better flowing head. Maybe stick with the 241's?

i bet you could sell your 241s and the 317s and be well on your way to having L92 heads that flow better than ported 243s.
