Default TRex cam with nitrous possible?

Could you run a big *** cam like the TRex with a shot of nitrous? say a 75 shot? If not what is the biggest cam you can run to make good power(over 400+rwhp) with a 100-150 shot of nitrous?

supposedly there is no problem running nitrous with the TREX unless your running a large shot, 200+, and then there are rumors that you get diminishing returns after that. a 75 shot is nothin though dont worry about it. You can spray a 75 shot with pretty much any cam.

wow....thats cool. So a TRex with a wet 100-150 shot wouldn't be a problem?

What about tuning? How would you tune the car to get the maximum power out of the cam NA and still work well with nitrous?

is the TRex streetable? LOL

I would say you are fine with the 150 shot. As far as streetable, that depends on what your definition of streetable is. With the proper tune I think you would be ok.

the only reason why they say not to spray a big shot on the t-rex is because the cam has a lot of over lap and would bleed off some of the juice

My car isnt a daily driver

I would suggest going with the MS4 cam for more of a every day car, but you can def daily drive a T rex, its all in what you like etc

I dont see any problems with it

We've sprayed 200-250 on that cam. Did just fine. i would suggest a standalone fuel system if you are using a wet shot.

Would I need a standalone with a 100-150 shot? What about running just a 75 shot until I can upgrade the fuel system?

So would it be ok to stick with a 75 or 100?

It is highly recommended by thunder to run AT LEAST 4.10 gears. If your going with nitrous I would stick with the 4.10's. I have the trex cam, 90mm intake and throttle body, 85mm maf and lid, z06 heads, built t56, and a 9" with 4.57 spool. I love to drive my car on the street. It is a wicked ride. Very driveable in my opinion. I have an awesome tune through vette doctors. The car put down 480 through the 9" and has absolutely no cam surge even at 1500 rpm in 6th. I get in and turn the key and she fires every time. I have been throwing the idea around about going nitrous as well and have no fear of doing it. The only thing I would change would the gear ration in the rear. 4.57 gears on nitrous would probably be to much gear for nitrous down the track. I may go to a 4.30. By the way I'm running a 28" slick on the track

If possible I would like to stay with my 3.73s so if I get the cam I will see how it feels with my current gears and then change to 4.10s or 4.30s if necessary

yeah that would be fine... i wouldn't spray to much over a 150 shot, but it wouldn't hurt anything if you put... lets say a 250-300 shot. Its just that cam has a lot of over lap about bleed a bit off and if you went with something that was a little bit tighter you would benefit more when you fed your car the dope. and i would go no less then 4.10's(auto) or 4.30's(M6) and thats on the juice. If you stay N/A i would go no less than 4.30's if you have a 4l60 and 4.56's if you have a t56

Just make sure you have the drivetrain that can take some abuse from the 7000 rpm launches

lol....I have some suspension mods and a better clutch hopefully on the way soon with a flywheel.

Will I be ok on the stock rear end as long as I don't run sticky tires?
