Cam install on my GTO was alittle bit of a pita for me. Careful with the spring compressor tool. I striped the threads in the head for one of the rocker bolts. I had to retap it. Man that sucked!

What tool did you use? I used the Crane tool and it worked perfect

I didnt drop the oil pan to change my cam just used a wrench and a magnet to get the bolt out of the oil pump pick up. it was a pain in the *** but it was a lot easier and quicker than dropping the pan. almost had to drop it anyways because one of the lifters fell down in to the pan, but i got it out by taking off the intake and sticking a magnet down one of the two holes in the casting and was able to push it back in to the lifter tray

lucky guy haha!
dropping a lifter wont be an issue. i have the install tool from JPR the holds the lifters up.
yea i was planning on using a magnet and wrench. i like the idea that was mentioned earlier about tying some fish line or small string around the head of the bolt for the pick up tube, so if it falls, i can just pull it out.
