Default PCV Valve

Why can't you do away with the pcv system and put breathers in the valve covers?
This seems to be the oil consumption problem with LS1's. You could use the fuel filter idea for breathers at the rear of the valve covers.

Some people are using breathers instead of a PCV system. Some argue that the breathers won’t adequately evacuate harmful contaminates from the crankcase, leaving them to damage internal components over time. There are strong arguments on both sides. I’ve gone back and fourth between breathers and the stock PCV system (using a vertical PCV though) and still have yet to decide which I prefer.

I just put in the new GM PCV part talked about before. I'll post how the oil consumption changes.

Take $5.00 down to local Chevy dealer and purchase pcv valve part # 12572717. Best 5 bucks I have spent in quite a while.
