Default First mods question

Just got my 99 SS last week and am thinking of some things to do for first mods on it. My sig shows all current mods(not many). I am looking for bolt ons right now. I dont think I am ready to start hacking into the motor like I did on my old Z (1993). Just lookingfor things to boost power a bit. This is my first LS1 car and I dont know alot about it. this is what I have been thinking:
Whisper lid or one comparable
Fast toys ram air
LS6 intake
FLP system (dontknow if I can run it with the drop kit)
Mcleod street twin clutch

any other ideas from the vetrans would be appreciated.

I'm not a vet, in here. But I do know you almost alway want to do lid and exhaust first Then you want to start thinking performance or appearance, that's where I'm stuck at

Try the basics!

!FRA = free Ram Air mod.
!EGR = hack off the EGR tube!
!MAF = port your own or descreen, best bet would be aftermarket ends.
Air Lid
K&N or Holley filter
Cutout

These alone will drop you 3-4 tenths!

Fikse FM10's those are some bad *** wheels man, i want those wheels so bad, just not sure i can afford the price tag on them right now as far as your question goes, i'd recommend either some gears or some headers, either one would do nicely.

Don't bother with the LS6 intake unless you're putting a cam in too.

Mod list for you....
All the free mods
FLPs
Cutout
lid
gears
Drag radials (if your puttin down power....you'll need these)

That should give you a good start

the 'street twin' is a favorite for lt1 guys but the Ram VDS system is the only system *I* have seen to really work with these cars. everyone else covered the rest. i agree with the intake thing. i see a lot of newbies wanting to throw on an LS6 intake real early. Colonel and Raug both went 11.5 (stock internal) with an LS1 intake. and back in the day Brooke put down 400rwhp through the converter with his heads/cam/ls1 intake (430 locked).

My first mods took place at 400 miles on the clock...

It was an SLP lid & K&N filter...

Then at 1100 I put on FLP longtube headers...

But go to

www.installuniversity.com

and look at all the free mods you can do to free up some of that HP...they won't hurt and are worth a few HP...

The site has a lot of good install info too...when you get to the site go to install documents..
