To set the record straight, Straight Line Performance may be a sponsor, but the SLP headers are made by SLP which stands for Street Legal Performance.

This is my take: I had SLP LT headers but now have FLP LT's. The SLP's were well made but were a pain to install & they hung down way too low. I did scrape them a couple times. Everything did fit perfectly though & there was no banging of the floorboard etc. Now with the FLP's, mine are very well made, looked as good as the SLP's to me & they tuck up sooooo well, it's amazing. Mine really haven't hit the floorboard because the person who installed them knew about the banaging problem & did some modification so they wouldn't. The problem I had was the y-pipe on the drivers side did not fit with the DD SFC's. Lucky he had a modified y-pipe that fit but I'm waiting for FLP to send me the right one nextweek. Other than that I'm very pleased with the FLP's. On a lowered car I would go with FLP's no doubt, but on a stock ride height the SLP's are awesome too.

Straight Line Performance is an aftermarket supplier like most of our other sponsors.

correction they make SS and Firehawks not WS6's <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">

FWIW:
I saw a dyno graph of a car that had MAC's then switched to SLP's. The SLP's pumped up the midrange gains over the MAC's. The MAC's made more hp from like 4500 rpm and up. The MAC's had all the mod's to make them flow as best they could. The SLP's had cats on. The MAC's didn't have cats. When the SLP's were dyno'd again without cats they improved but from like 5000rpm up the MAC's were better.
I'd think the FLP's would be similar to the MAC's on the top end, but do better than the MAC's on the bottom end.
Since SLP's are designed to pump up mid-range torque they probably do that better than the FLP's will, but the SLP's will give up some on the top end compared to the FLP's as a result. The graphs I saw showed the SLP's only 10-14 rwhp better than the stock manifolds on a bolt on car at over 5000 rpm, the MAC's on the same car were worth 20-22 rwhp at over 5000 rpm over the stock manifolds.
Neither is better than the other, just depends on what you want.
SLP's are probably more fun on a street car as the torque will be pumped up in the 3000 rpm range.
FLP's might be a tad better at the track.
On a car launching at 4500rpm or higher I'd think the MAC's or FLP's would be slightly better.
Just my .02 based on what I've read and learned over the last year about the on going FLP vs SLP debate.
I think the Hookers turn out better than either FLP or SLP, I sure hope so anyway.
