Default Electrical Gremlin

My car started doing something a little weird a few days ago. Every time I start the car now the trip odometer goes to zero and the gauges do a quik full sweep. This only happens when I engage the starter and fire the engine up. If I just turn the accessories on everything is fine...trip odometer reads what was there when I last shut it off and the gauges read what they should. Please help with any info. Thanks

I would check your battery. Sounds like one of the early warning symptoms of a battery going.

Ive had the same problem before, you might want to check a ground wire on the back of the divers side head, thats atleast where mine is. It was loose and it caused the gauges to go apeshit when i started it up. Justin <img src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" border="0" alt="[jester]" />

Thanks for the replies. It ended up being the battery...70bucks down the drain but at least everything works ok now.

Loco, I have been on this board for a while now but I just lurk.
