Any gains by porting MAF??
Do you think I would see any gains with porting it, I got a lot of mods on the car and this is the one thing I haven't done yet...
My major mods are
Cam
Headers
LS6 intake (stock)
lid, free ram air
catback
I have an MAFT so I would be able to tune it...I would just like to know if it would be worth it..

The 98s usually gain the most with ported MAFs, but the newer ones tend to have more problems with pinging than anything else. Although if you have a MAFT to tune it, then you should be ok. Give it a try, my MAF porting page is still around:

See here for all the info you want regarding maf porting and its effects.

My honest opinion would be that you should just remove the screen and leave the rest alone.
Joe Prince showed me the difference in flow of a descreened maf and a ported maf and it was very minimal, less than 10 cfm.

I picked up a ton of tq and hp by adding IRS 75mm bookends on my 2000 WS6. Gained from timing increase, not from airflow. Gained 4 degrees of timing across the board. Your results may vary.

The results are what im afraid of, cause I won't be able to get on a dyno right away, I'm sure If I do it I will be able to tell with my AFR gauge..
We will see what happens..
