I have a gmaf and hpp3 for the 4.10s in the rear. Also the car is a 6spd. The quesions i have am i gonna need custom pcm reprgamming or a MAFT. Also the shop is telling me i dont need to upgrade anyhting with this cam like pushrods, springs, or retainers. I want the car to run right so any suggestions.

Find another shop!! That cam will float all over the place on stock springs. Whoever is doing your heads should put in good springs, either double springs, CC918s, or Isky 295s. I would also get titanium retainers and hardened pushrods.

Good luck on the cam. Don't see too many street LS1's running below a 112 LSA.

Keep us posted on how it goes.

More replys in your other thread. Good to see you have a M6 and 4.10s, should pull hard with that setup. Better valvesprings, retainers, and pushrods are a MUST!!!! Probably need custom programming as well.

Amen to finding a more competent shop. Thats a lotta cam for stock valve train to handle. Re programming, you may be lucky with the M6 doing the TB plate hole enlargement or the Trooper mod and avoid the need to custom program the PCM. Good luck.

That cam you were looking at is the most aggressive I've seen...I would step down to the hammer....

In my opinion, that is too much cam for a street driven 346ci LS1 motor to handle. You have to remember that ASA cars live at WOT most of the time, and do not have to stop and go very often. That cam would work pretty well at full throttle all the time, but its torque and midrange power are going to suck on 346ci motors.

Also, if your shop said your stock valvetrain is good, I'd HIGHLY recommend you run from them. Its obvious they have no experience with LS1 motors.

I would definitely go with the Hammer cam over that one.

Tony, I'd think the torque and upper mid range (4000-5000) would be awesome with that cam. It is made for short track oval racing, where you want that hard pull to get you off the corner. Top end doesn't matter as much on most of the ASA tracks. According to GM, peak hp in the ASA cars is 6200. The 110 LSA is there to beef up the midrange.
