Default Dyno question

I just recently dynoed my car to see the effects of a new torque converter. I have posted in the drivetrain section, but I figured I will post here to, because of higher traffic. Why is my torque and horsepower crossover point shifted between theses 2 graphs? The first run is at the proper 5250 mark but on my new graph the same run is shown now at 5000 and my new runs occur at 4900. Both are corrected numbers.

Thanks for any explanation on this.

You need to take a look at the HP and Torque scales. If they aren't the same, then your torque and HP won't cross at 5250 like they are supposed to.

In your pictures you posted, you chopped off the left side that shows the HP scale. So I can't see what scale they are using.

To clarify, if the HP scale goes from 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, etc... And the Torque goes 100, 150, 200, 250, etc, and doesn't start at 50 just like the HP did, then the scale can be off a little. The same thing happend on my corvette dyno. It was crossing at like 4500 and I couldn't figure out why until I rechecked the scales on the HP and Torque. They didn't start at the same number and didn't both increment by 50's. The HP incremented by 50, and the Torque incremented by 25's.

I hope this makes some sense. Some things are hard to visualize by typing. If so, I would be glad to answer any questions you may have.

You are correct. I did think about looking at the difference in scale between HP and TQ. Thanks.
